As New York Fashion Week nears its end, there was one person we were quite excited about seeing and that was the lovely Rebecca Taylor.
There seemed to be a dark woodland forest theme for the first few looks that graced the catwalk, as crinkled brown fabrics mixed in with flashes of purple and green strutted the runway.
Electric blue ankle socks were a nice touch to a bright pink floral dress, hidden beneath a subtle designed animal print trench coat with asymmetric buttoning details.
Sheer ruffled blouses teamed with animal print trousers was a nice contrast, as was the studded black mac teamed with a short little purple dress and brown leather saddle bag; we were big fans of all of these.
Pointed and exaggerated shoulders made an appearance on this catwalk, not totally dissimilar to what was showcased on Zac Posen yesterday too. Perhaps big shoulders will be carried through from spring this year until the autumn, if the catwalks are anything to go by.
Turquoise was once again the big colour of the runway, convincing us more than ever of its autumn appeal in the upcoming months, and teamed here with a slouchy knit cardigan, ankle boots and ethnic jewellery.
We were big fans of the of the model's look for the runway too, as she showcased side 'knots' in their hair complete with dramatic turquoise and lilac eye make-up.
One of the biggest highlights of the collection for us was a purple ruffled skirt, teamed with a sheer off-white top, complete with detailed Grecian neck embellishment.
Taylor then teamed it with a shaggy black fur coat, her signature ankle socks and ankle boots, which gave it a quirky and cool edge to it.
However, our favourite piece of the collection came almost at the end, when she debuted a white and pink sequined flapper dress teamed with a fitted animal print jacket.
It shouldn't have worked but oddly enough it did, which sums up the entire collection as a whole actually. She's the master of unusual combinations and she did not disappoint with her latest range.
