Kate Moss celebrates her 34th birthday this week and now she's getting to that age when models start to think about retiring as wrinkles take their toll.
We've all seen the images of her looking older and slightly haggard as the years of partying and an excessive lifestyle are affecting her appearance lately but who is waiting in the wings to step into her fabulously fashionable shoes?
Kate may still be in demand, but there's plenty of new, young and brilliantly fresh-faced beauties snapping at her heels. Female First gives you a round-up of some of the hottest, and most stunning new models on the scene.
Agness Deyn
Of course, she had to be on the list. Named Model of the Year 2007 she is everywhere at the moment. Agyness is instantly recognisable with her cropped, platinum blonde hair and uber-hip city style.
Originally from Lancashire she was spotted in London and the 21-year-old has been in demand ever since. She is currently fronting high profile campaigns for the likes of Burberry and Georgio Armani. She is also best friends with cool new designer Henry Holland and the pair are often seen out at the all the trendiest East-London nightspots. She can do no wrong at the moment and is one of the hottest contenders to steal Kate Moss's crown as the Queen of the British fashion circuit.
Portia Freeman
London model Portia Freeman is only 19, but is already well on her way to the top, catwalk modelling for most of the major fashion houses.
Tipped as one of the most promising models at Select Model Agency she is also seeing Kate Moss' notorious ex Pete Doherty. The rock and roll boyfriend is the perfect accessory for an up and coming star and Portia also bears a strong resemblance to Kate, even modelling her range for Topshop last year. The similarities end there, however, as Portia s very clean living and anti-drugs. Maybe she'll be the one to help sort out Pete as well as taking the catwalks by storm.
Lily Donaldson
Another highly recognisable face in the crop of new British models is Lily Donaldson, daughter of photographer Thomas Donaldson.
Tall and long limbed she has appeared in just about every catwalk show going - and the advertising campaigns just keep flooding in. She was nominated for Model of the Year in 2005 and has been named as one of the favourite models of Lanvin designer Alber Elbez. She is currently starring in the latest Burberry campaign and can been seen as the face of Miss Dior Cherie
Chloe Hayward
Discovered while buying shoes in Topshop, Chloe Hayward then went on to be the face of the high street giant's winter 2007 ad campaign.
Signed to Select the 18-year-old has been compared to Julie Christie and Veronica Lake. After achieving excellent A-levels she decided to take a gap year to pursue her modelling career before she heads off to study at Birmingham University. Although we may not see much of her over the next few years Chloe is definitely one to be looking out for in the future.
Daisy Lowe
Kate Moss is just as well known for her partying and appearances at gigs around London. If it's cool credibility and rock and roll friends that you're after then Daisy Lowe has certainly got those boxes ticked.
Daughter of Pearl Lowe and Gavin Rossdale she has just signed up to be the face of Doc. Martens shoes and is appearing in more and more fashion magazines with her unusual and super cool sense of style. She might not be walking on the catwalks, but she's certainly at all the shows. Edgy and cool expect hip, up and coming British designers to be all over her very soon
So Kate Moss may still be one of the world's most beautiful women, and no doubt it'll be a very long time before she drifts away from the fashion limelight, but her time at the top is coming to an end and these new beauties are the ones to watch.
