Monochrome is just the ticket for the summer months, especially if you're already fed up of all the neon brights, and harsh 80s looks that are currently adorning the high-street.
We're also reliably informed, thanks to our catwalk coverage recently that monochrome may well head into AW09 too, so invest now and wear for the next two seasons.
Chanel's stunning collection in Paris proved that monochrome is not only classy, but stylish too and can be reinvented each season, which is great news seeing as we're in the midst of a recession.
It's also a bit of a myth that you'll look like a zebra in monochrome, because honestly you won't! It's all about dressing in the right way, and pairing certain styles together.
So for example, if you choose a black and white striped skirt, keep the rest of your look simple and chic with a white top, black tights and some black heels to complete the outfit.
If you don't want to go all out with this look, then why not simple bag yourself some monochrome accessories instead?
Brogues are still very much in fashion, after being seen on the likes of Agyness Deyn, Alexa Chung and Miquita Oliver, so investing in a monochrome may well be a smart style move.
Again, if that's still not your thing, then simply snap up a quilted monochrome bag, which seem to be reaching new heights of popularity at the moment.
