Matthew Williamson wowed his star studded audience with a bright electro spring/summer collection as he hit the catwalk on home soil for the first time in seven seasons yesterday.
Twiggy, Yasmin Le Bon, Erin O'Connor and star of The City Olivia Palermo were among the front-rowers eager for a glimpse of the popular designer's latest offering.
"It's great that he's coming back to London. I wish they would all come back to London, that's where they originated, that's where they trained," Twiggy told AFP before the show.
"I think his clothes are wonderful because they are so feminine, and I love his bright colours. Often fashion shows are all black and grey and cream, and then you come to Matthew and it's like, 'ooh!'."
And this season was no exception as models hit the catwalk in bright neon and metalic electro-inspired Williamson creations.
Happy purple and yellow tones combined with shiny gunmetal grey and adorned with shards of mirror and lots of beading gave a great futuristic boho summer feel to the collection.
Dresses with cut out detailing at the waist provided the sexy feminity that makes Williamson so popular with celebrities including Cheryl Cole, Sienna Miller and Mischa Barton.
Apart from the usual gorgeous colourful printed dresses, this latest collection also showed off some beautifully tailored high waisted shorts and straight leg trousers. We also loved the space cowboy inspired peep toe boots.
Last year his coral beaded pocket dress was a massive hit but we think we've spotted this season's Matthew Williamson 'It' dress already- the neon green chiffon dress with cut out waist is sure to be making it's way to celebrity wardobes very soon. You heard it here first.
