With a history at Alexander McQueen, there’s no surprise to see strong, sexual pieces take centre stage at the Marina Hoermanseder Autumn/Winter fashion collection.
Leather corsets that mould the body would be perfect for the Lady Gaga’s of the fashion scene and the leather buckled chaps would certainly sit well in Miley Cyrus’ wardrobe.
The collection was inspired by orthopaedic support apparatuses, naked cats and brain structures and these are easily apparent in her designs. Particularly the nude cape, which in fact just looks like a giant brain.
The colour scale includes muted nude shades such as beige, grey, rose and taupe and was accentuated by blueberry and green elements.
Leather skirts made of straps and buckles are contrasted with draped blouses, elaborate leather caped combined with cashmere shorts and leather bodies with winter coats.
Details like the leather buckled gathering sleeves put the designer’s individual stamp on the entire ready-to-wear collection,
Small details, such as the leather hairclips holding the models’ elegant braids in place, complete the strong feminine look.
The combination of fetish elements and progressive cuts of the clothing are bound to stir up the fashion industry.
And the final nude gown, corseted with a series of leather buckle belts, we can’t wait to see on the red carpet.
