Marchesa came to London Fashion Week for SS15 and it certainly made a splash in our wonderfully stylish capital, with a collection filled with beautiful pieces we’re already looking forward to seeing grace the red carpet.
The Spring 2015 collection is inspired by a modern-gypsy Woodstock spirit, and we think Georgia May Jagger was the perfect opening model for this style.
Georgia opened the show in a gorgeous white gown with floral appliqués and then followed later in the show in a black floral maxi we think is perfect for close friend Daisy Lowe.
But, back to the collection.
Bohemian guipure lace dresses were trickled with shades of jade and raspberry floral threadworks that fall along billowing sleeves and silk tiered ruffled layers while an off-shoulder cocktail is accented with violet and saffron 3-D flowers, composed of handmade sequin and painted silk.
Florals in coral and dusty rose drape silk organza cloque brocade looks in jumpsuits and tulip skirts that are finished with fringed silk threads. Bursts of yellow and cobalt hand-painted birds adorn shift dresses and tea-length skirts that are topped with tailored plastrons and backless fitted jackets.
Signature looks include multi-color Ikat inspired raw silk hand-embroidered cocktails with corded lace borders and backless waistcoats paired with hand-draped flowers. Rows of floral embroidered stripes and sequins appear layered over a jacquard cocktail and tulle gowns. Pale rose, cream and light blue hand-dyed feather blossom bouquets adorn silk tulle gowns in shades of sheer pink and dusty grey.
Celebrating the brand’s 10th anniversary, designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig have a fashion collection once again to be proud of, it’s certainly a beauty and one we predict will be a big hit on the red carpet.
