Palmer//Harding Spring Summer 14

Palmer//Harding Spring Summer 14

The Palmer//Harding boys are definitely moving in the right direction with their fashion brand, for a collection that usually focuses on white shirts alone, the SS14 showcase was definitely moving forward.

This season we saw the introduction of dresses, trousers, jackets, skirts and t-shirts. And we're glad they finally decided to expand. The collection uses a fresh and complimentary colour palette of white, sand, sky blue, aqua and lapis.

The inspiration for this collection comes from something we all can expect during spring or summer, the sudden downpour of rain.

Unprepared, the rain permeates your clothes. Casually sculpting the silhouette where wet cloth contacts the body.

Relaxed silhouettes with calculated details sculpt the body and innovative cuts invest a t-shirt- like attitude into their signature shirts.

In parts of the collection, a literal translation of falling rain has been created through linear gathering of nylon mesh and weighted hems. The remainder of the collection incorporates luxurious waterproof fabrics to complement natural silks and cotton fabrics from Cotton USA.

Not only did the clothes transport you to a feeling of spring showers, the environment done this too. Designed by Malcom Pate, the background and sound of 'industrial rain' has been curated to re-create the distortion caused by heavy rainfall.

A collaboration with Demeter Fragrance Library filled the space with the smell of rain on a hot summer sidewalk.

Once again Palmer//Harding have impressed with their incredible attention to detail and innovative designs of the staple white shirt.
