Founded by award winning entrepreneur Caprice Bourret, By Caprice has gone onto become the leading lingerie brand in the UK, designing fashionable lingerie that is both affordable and wearable.
The new season range incorporates a fusion of blues, pinks, reds and elegant black hues to make every woman feel and look fabulous.
Here CEO Caprice shares her top tips with Female First for buying the perfect fitting bra for every occasion:
- Know the brand and fit
It is important to get measured every few months as our bodies change and shape, and fit differs from brand to bra and from design to design.
Before making any new purchase follow a few simple measuring steps to ensure you feel comfortable and confident in your lingerie, Says Caprice.
- How to buy the perfect T-Shirt bra:
Caprice says: A t-shirt bra should be both sturdy, supportive and subtle.
Firstly, don't overlook band size, it is just as important as cup size. If you are buying online, most good retailers and brands should provide an easy reference guide to follow.
1. Find out your chest size:Run the measuring tape around your body directly underneath your breasts, all the way around your back and ribcage. Write down the measurement. Add five inches to that number and that is your chest size
Do this a few times to get the same measurement, says Caprice
2. Find out your cup measurement:Run the measuring tape all the way around your chest again, this time with the tape running over the top of your breasts from at their fullest point (usually the middle of the breast), and write down your measurements.
Subtract the difference between your cup measurement and your chest measurement - your cup measurement will be larger.
The number that represents the difference between your cup and chest measurement will help you find you true cup size.
Use the following guide to determine your cup size says Caprice
Up to 1/2 inch = AA
1/2 to 1 inch = A
1 inch to 2 inches = B
2 to 3 inches = C
3 to 4 inches = D
4 to 5 inches = DD
Caprice's top buying tip:
Bras are usually sold with even number chest sizes. So, if your chest measurement is an odd number you may want to buy the next size up.
- How to enhance your cleavage:
Caprice says, If you have small boobs opt for a gel bra to give you the perfect uplift. For example, at By Caprice we have a range of gel bras to help achieve the perfect shape, and are designed specifically for smaller busts.
In addition, for larger cups we also design a range of padded bras which help sculpt the bust. So there is something for every shape and size!
If you are specifically looking for maximum push up, opt for an extra padded bra with more support on the bottom inside of the cup , says Caprice
- How to flatter your shape if you have a big bust:
If you are top heavy, try skimming or enhancing your bust area to flatter your shape, says Caprice
If you are comfortable with showcasing your assets, wear a top or dress with a plunging neckline, says Caprice . However if you wish to minimise your boobs, there are a few clever styling tips that you can follow. For instance, subtly follow your contours by wearing a higher cut dress that just shows a glimpse of cleavage.
It is also important to keep it simple says Caprice and try and opt for a flattering v-neck where possible to help streamline your shape.
Just remember, avoid wearing anything to detailed because this will have the reverse effect, says Caprice
