How did you find out about BINTM?
I was a big fan of the show for many years and watched it regularly. One of my sisters suggested I should enter the competition. I was too young at the time but the idea stuck with me.
Did you enjoy being part of the show?
I absolutely loved it. It was a truly amazing experience, indescribable really, and one I will treasure always.
How did you get on with the other contestants?
The girls were really lovely. Not too many arguments at all. There were moments of friction of course, but nothing too challenging. I was very lucky really. They were a great bunch of girls.
Did you expect to win?
No. Not at all. At the start I wasn’t even sure I was good enough to enter the competition. However, once you get past the preliminary round you want to get into the final 20 and then really hope to get into the house. Once you get into the house anything is possible but I never expected to win. You take one step at a time, work hard, and listen to the advice you are given and as the weeks go by and you are still there you begin to believe that it might actually be possible to win the competition.
What have you done since you won?
Oh gosh so many things; I’m the face of the natural skincare range Nelsons Pure & Clear as I love the products, the Revlon, Company Magazine and Miss Selfridge campaigns, which were amazing. Several Advertorials including L’Oreal; Face-on Magazine: A mixture of photo shoots and shows – Ted Baker, BINTM live; photo shoots for a variety of different subjects – shoes, clothes, hair, makeup. It has been sooooo exciting. In between you have to fit in castings for the next job – often three or four castings a day- and the occasional press interview and award ceremony! I love it.
How do you look after yourself to ensure you look great for photoshoots?
I always look after my skin to ensure it stays flawless for photoshoots by drinking plenty of water and staying make-up free as often as possible. I also follow a regular skincare regime and my favourite skincare range is Nelsons Pure & Clear including a facial wash, wipes (when Im short of time!) and a moisturiser. It also has a blemish gel which is great to use if a spot rears its ugly head before a photoshoot to help it disappear quickly!
Who are your style icons?
Rosie Huntington-Whitely and Blake Lively.
Which designer would you love to work with?
I would love to be part of a Victoria Secret Campaign. Dolce & Gabanna and Marc Jacobs.
What are your fashion tips for the summer?
Dress for comfort. Don’t be afraid to use colour.
Has the spotlight changed you?
I hope not – at least not in a negative way. Change is good if it makes you a better person.
What tips do you have for girls wanting to get into modelling?
I would say always be yourself, and never let the industry change you, but also make sure it is something you really want to do. If you love it that’s fine as it can be amazing but it is also a harsh business at times.
What is next for you?
It all seems to be going well with my modelling agency, Models One, and I have just been taken on by Major Models Milan and am off to Milan in a few days. I would love to be a part of a Victoria Secrets Campaign and work in all the fashion capitals of the world and so that is what I hope will be next for me.
