In winter, knitwear is the go-to piece that makes you want to sit next to an open fire on a cold winters night and keeps you warm outdoors. From oversized cardigans to jumper dresses, every season there are lots of options to choose from depending on your body type and your personal style.
Rachael Biggs, QVC fashion buyer, comments "I get excited every season by what the key fashion trends are going to be but autumn/winter is by far my favourite - it's all about layering up and getting cosy. No winter wardrobe is complete without some knitwear but this season it is a huge fashion trend. From colour blocking and fringing to knitted sets with a modern twist, QVC has everything you need to update your winter wardrobe with the must-have pieces."
Here, Rachel gives us her tips on top knitwear style:
1. It's all about the length
The draped and long knit cardigan is key this winter. It's a great piece to throw on with a simple work outfit to add a touch of style! Plus, the length makes it flattering and easy to wear, as it hides the wobbly bits and makes your legs look slimmer.
2. It's all about shearling
Shearling is not limited to outwear anymore - this year, the trend is to wear it indoors. It's soft and comfortable to wear and an ideal layering piece that looks great over dresses, but equally as good as a more casual outfit with jeans and boots.
3. It's all about going sleeveless
The sleeveless duster was one of the main trends for spring/summer 2015 and it is continuing through to autumn/winter. This piece has the power to easily transform a simple outfit into something really stylish and different. Wear it long with a pencil skirt for work or with cuffed boyfriend jeans at night and get ready to rock winter!
4. It's all about the fringe
They were part of the Wild West style, hot in the 70's and now, fringing is making a fashion comeback! From bags to jackets, you can find it everywhere. Fringing is best mixed with a plain piece to keep the outfit chic and simple. Our tip - get a cosy fringed knitwear jumper and wear it with some skinny jeans!
5. It's all about monochrome
From Beyoncé to Kimberley Walsh, everyone has been channeling the monochrome look this winter. It's perfect for those days in which you don't want to think about colours - you can pull out a timeless look without having to spend a lot of time creating your outfit.
