It was a small intimate gathering for the Hellen Van Rees presentation where models roamed around the room allowing you to get up close and see the stunning detail to the pieces.
The 15-piece collection, entitled Fuzzlayerglossbox, promises an assortment of nostalgic elegance and futurism.
Continuing with her signature hand-woven tweed, Hellen introduces innovative new materials to combine with organic silks and cottons that were seen last season.
Digital prints have been cleverly incorporated onto the weave in can Rees’ studio in the Netherlands, adding both originality and excitement.
Inspiration for the collection was taken from US drama, The Boardwalk Empire, the collection therefore features a number of 1920’s inspired silhouettes which have been captivatingly manipulates, on a range of long evening wear gowns and ready-to-wear separates.
By combining vibrant colours under heavy blacks and whites, Fuzzlayerglossbox intergrates elements of distinct mirrored effects. Further highlighting can Rees’ desire to shock viewers, a mix of harsh geometic shapes beautifully echo organic contoured weavings.
