We've seen the catwalk collections, lusted after the new beauty looks hitting the high-street and now it's time to examine the new hair do's we'll all be requesting at our local salon.
Lazy Waves
It was all very ladylike and proper last season with 40s pin up curls and heavily styled hair. This season is all about the loose wave making a comeback. Not fully boho-chic and disheveled like we have seen in previous seasons, but more of a natural wave, seen on Kate Moss and Sienna Miller most recently.
Get the Look: Although this may look like a low maintenance style, the truth is it can take hours to get that 'just rolled out of bed' style. Start by towel drying your hair, scrunching the ends as you do so. Next use a frizz control cream and run your fingers through each section of your hair. Then twist your hair into a bun until dry. Finally, spritz some heat protection spray on your hair and then use your GHDs to curl random sections, finishing the look with either a gloss serum or spray.

Drape
This is the most modest trend of the season, using Jane Eyre and Jane Austin as their inspiration. Think elegance and simplicity above all else as this is supposed to be a low maintenance trend that looks effortlessly put together. The drape is a form of loose bun with sections of hair pulled around your face and pinned over your ears. It may sound scary but the end look can appear stunning, just look at Cameron Diaz.
Get the Look: Start by putting some volume back into your hair, or it will look lank by the time you come to fix it into the bun. Work a pea-sized amount of mousse through the roots of your hair, whilst damp and blow dry, lifting your hair up at the crown with a vent brush. Next pull the hair back into a low ponytail, knot or braid and pin as required.

Wired
Luella, among others featured this quite heavily in her collection this Autumn/Winter, with crimped hair making a massive comeback. Instead of playing with your crimping irons (remember them?) when you were little, this is all about the grown-up crimp taking over; the bigger and bolder- the better.
Get the Look: You'll have to be pretty brave to put this look together and protection of your hair is vital for this trend to work. Spray thermal heat protectors all through your hair before you begin and use a comb to centre part your hair. Gently back comb each section of your hair as you work your way through to achieve maximum volume, then use your desired hair tool to crimp each section. Once cool, gently brush through the crimped hair to achieve a slightly frizzy effect and spritz with hairspray to finish.

Playful up-dos
The clue is in the name for this trend; it's about having fun with your hair and there are no rules on how you do it. Experiment with quiffs, messy hair buns, knots and curls to create your own take on the trend. Natasha Beddingfield certainly knows how to have fun with her hair and is a great inspiration for where to start, although you may want to tone it down a little bit for the daytime!
Get the Look: Start by working mousse through damp hair to get some volume into the roots, as before. Next invest in lots of hair grips, preferably as close to your hair colour as possible and pull hair into a ponytail. Ponytails are a good base for you to start experimenting with your look, so pull it into a high, low or mid ponytail and work the hair grips through your hair to achieve your desired look. There are no rules with this style, so have fun creating your own.

Done Woman
This look is pure 80s super model; polished and quaffed to perfection. High level maintenance is required to be a done woman, as volume is the key to this hair trend, as is having long hair. The trend is all about exaggeration to the extreme, think drag queen hair that is back combed to within an inch of its life, but combined with demure clothing and power sunglasses. Cheryl Cole worked this look to perfection at the Brit Awards this year and showed how a catwalk trend can work in real life.
Get the Look: You'll need some hair thickening products before you attempt this look, as most of the catwalk hair was created with wigs and hair extensions, as well as plenty of thickening sprays. Liberally coat your roots and hair with a volume lift mousse whilst your hair is damp, then tip your head upside down and blow with a hair dryer, using a vent brush to gently push your hair from side to side. Next take inch-long sections of your hair and spritz with thickening spray, making sure to use a hot iron to wind the hair from the root to the ends. Finally pin the hair to its required space and use hairspray to hold.
