With the credit crunch refusing to go away any time soon, it's comforting to know that you can get designer fashion on the high-street, and at a fraction of the price.
The designers aren't soft though, they know that high-end fashion is going to suffer with us heading into a recession and all, and this way they get their work out to a new market and we get some designer goodies, at a more reasonable price.
Everyone's a winner! We've had a look at the best designers on the high-street to see how they compare...
Designers at Debenhams
Matthew Williamson, Ben De Lisi and Betty Jackson are just some of the 21 designers creating affordable and stunning diffusion lines, for the department store. Each designer brings something new to the mix, be it Ben's designer gowns, Betty's girly glamour or Matthew Williamson's fun and colourful accessories. (Ben De Lisi Dress, £120)
Gold By Giles At New Look
Now into his fourth collaboration for the high-street store, Giles has been a huge hit on the high-street. He even had Agyness Deyn modelling his designs- a clear indication of how popular his collections are. It's affordable too, with the cheapest item starting from a mere £5. (Mac, £50)
Patricia Field At Marks and Spencer
We were very excited when Patricia Field landed at Marks and Spencer last week, as we couldn't wait to get our hands on her Carrie-esque designs. She didn't disappoint us and produced an affordable and quirky line of clothing and accessories, that wouldn't look out of place on the Sex and the City set. Our fingers are crossed for a second collaboration! (Blue Dress, £75)
Oli Fusion
Oli has managed to land PPQ, Jasmine Guinness and Project Catwalk 3 Winner, Jasper Garvida to design for their fusion line and they've all been a great success. This is possibly the most quirky range that is available on the high-street and we're in love their sequined blouses, folky dresses and neon cardigans. (PPQ Cardigan £60)
