First dates are scary enough without having to worry about what to wear. Female First have come up with some first date fashion rules to create the perfect outfit.
First impressions are vital when it comes to potentially meeting the man of you're dreams or at least just having some good old flirty fun. There's a fine line between easy floozy and prissy nun and that's exactly where you want to be.
Organze Applique Dress, Warehouse, £100
This dress from Warehouse is a great example of a first date frock. It's bold, fun and girly but without being too scary and in your face. Plus it also shows just enough leg and neckline to be sexy without looking like you tried too hard.
Black Peep Toe Shoes, New Look, £25
Shoes are very important on a first date and heel height has the potential to make or break a blossoming romance. If you're on a blind date it's best to go with a mid to low heel to avoid towering over any vertically challenged hottie. Low heels are also a good idea if you're not sure where you going- stilettos are not ideal for a eveing down the bowling alley.
White Snake Print Clutch, Star by Julien Macdonald, Debenhams, £18
A clutch bag is essential for any single girls dating artillery. It's the perfect way to avoid holding hands on the walk home if Mr Right turns out to be Mr Seemed-so-much-hotter-when-I-was-drunk. If you hold your bag firmly in the hand nearest to his he won't be able to get a grip and if you change your mind simply swap hands- genius!
Black Puff Sleeve Shrug, Debenhams, £16
A shrug is also a good idea when wearing a sleevless dress. Not only will it keep off the evening chill but it also gives you a great chance to peel off some clothes and give him a flirty flash of the shoulders later in the night.
White Shell Heart Earrings, Mikey, £7.50
Finallly we finished off this look with some super cute heart earrings- just to subtly remind your lucky date that you're on the lookout for love.
