It's that fashionable time of the year again, when the Council of Fashion Designers of America get together and announce the list of nominees.
So, who's in the running this year? Well, there were quite a few surprises in store as the list of nominees was announced, with Marc Jacobs up for an astounding three awards.
He's been nominated for the 2009 Womenswear Designer of the Year award, Accessory Designer of the Year award and he will receive the International Award for his work at Louis Vuitton.
We're confident he can pull off the triple, after all he's had one of his best designing years to date and is the hot name on everybody's lips right now.
Jacobs will face stiff competition in both categories however, with Narciso Rodriguez and Rodarte's Kate and Laura Mulleavy competing for the Womenswear title.
And for the Accessories gong, he will be up against Proenza Schouler's Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez and the lovely Vera Wang.
Jason Wu, meanwhile is securing a name for himself in the fashion world, after being nominated for the Swarovski Award for Womenswear, while Anna Sui is to receive the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award.
According to WWD, The 2009 CFDA Fashion Awards will move to Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall, after seven years at the New York Public Library.
