Fashion was anything army related in early 1996 as we all went crazy for camo and combat pants.
It may seem ridiculous now but at the time there was nothing cooler than some khaki baggy pants and a cropped camo vest top and with the arrival of All Saints the army look just exploded.
The girl band were famed for their chilled out combat look and every teenage girl wanted to be just like them so soon the high streets were full of military inspired everything.
We wore tshirts, skirts, dresses and hadbags covered in camouflage print all teamed with some rather scary looking black army boots.
A few years ago the Iraq war brought the threat of a combat fashion comeback with Michael Kors even including a slinky, strapless camo dress in his spring/summer 2006 collecton- but luckily it's never been allowed to invade our wardrobes fully again.
For now the army look is confined to hunters, loners with an unhealthy interest in Ray Mears and actual soldiers- and that's how it should stay.
