When you think of cocktail hour, you think of glitzy dresses, lots of diamonds and circulating a large room with a glass of champagne in one hand and a load of canopies in the other.
Well, we thought we'd redefine what the cocktail hour means to us, and aside from the food and mixing, our take on it is nothing like the one mentioned above.
We think it's all about having fun with your friends, partying in some amazing fashion and tottering around in your ridiculously high-heels.
There are some great fashion looks out there on the high-street at the moment, which perfectly sum up the summer trends for going out in the evening.
For example, if the neon brights are a bit too full-on for daytime, they will be perfect for a night out with the girls. Team a neon skirt with a plain vest top and chunky accessories and your good to go.
The cocktail look to us is about mixing old glamour with new trends, so don't be afraid to stick to your ladylike look, but just jazz it up a tad with a bling bling clutch, or an elaborate hair band.
We're loving the statement shoes that are out there at the minute, as they can make or break an outfit, which may on any other occasion of looked dull.
Look to style starlets like Chloe Sevigny for inspiration on rocking this look, as she is the master of colour clashing and can make a boring, safe outfit come alive with the addition of a statement clutch or massive cocktail ring.
Here's one of our suggested cocktail looks for this weekend...
