As the Zeynep Tosun show finished all that could be heard through whisperings of the fashionable crowd was how the baby blue colour featured through the second half of the collection, stole the show.
The palette of colours running throughout the collection is definitely something we will be getting on board with come Autumn/Winter 14. Cream and brown are offset by autumnal hues of burnt orange and blasts of hazy blues that are sure to make you standout.
Turkish designer Tosun has drawn influence from the 1970’s silhouette and modern-day street style spirit for AW14 showcasing a collection that will fit seamlessly into your wardrobe with standout pieces that are sure to get you noticed.
The collection entitled ‘Oxidised’ presents androgynous sports luxe approach with tailoring twists echoing that of the late Seventies.
Clothing in the collection includes puffa style down jackets emphasised shoulders, long culottes, high-waist overalls, layered long-line dresses, leather and turtleneck sweatshirts alongside oversized coats. Prominent detailing complete the designs including; industrial oxidised hooks and eyelets, skullcaps, vintage pompoms, big belts styled with high-waisted pants, statement clutched and ankle block heel boots.
Fabrics dominant in the collection include heavily crafted thick leathers, brocade and wool crepe in shades of cream, deep browns, cinnamons and misty blue, grey hues.
Zeynup Tosun’s collaboration with Turkish Leather Brand Deri Tanitim Grubu for 2014 showcases to the international arena the indispensable craftsmanship behind Turkish leather, whilst contrasting rich textures used throughout emphasis the luxe winter warm feel of the collection.
