What to Wear to...Wimbledon

As Wimbledon is officially upon us we thought we would give you a couple of style pointers if you're planning on going down to watch a couple of matches or simply just wanting to get into the spirit of the tournament.

The trick to tennis attire is to keep is chic with nude colours (unless you're Serena Williams and feel the need to warm up in pink tie die leggings!) Stick to light layers if it does get chilly waiting for a match to finish later into the evening and that way you can peel off if you're stuck in the sun trap.

Smart casual is always the way as you look formal without being uncomfortable sitting on plastic chairs all afternoon. A simple light blouse is breezy and will go with any bottom you choose. Available from Asos for £19.

Pleated skirts are very trendy and it is the perfect outfit for a day out at the Tennis. Pleats are very in at the moment and while it will keep you cool - it will also cover up your legs avoiding any burning. Marks and Spencer £39.50.

Even if you don't end up using it a light weight cradigan is a good way to light layer and to take the edge or an unwelcome breeze. Try and keep with the neutral cream tones to give the tennis impression throughout. RiverIsland £29.99.

If you want to show off a little leg in a tasteful manner this skirt could not be more tennis if it tried. The shape is cute and girly and the colour is great for suiting the creams of blouses and cardigans. £30 RiverIsland.

Cute, cream, canvas and comfortable. Shoes from TopShop £18.

Not just a great accessory and addition to a Wimbledon outfit, a hat is a must for keeping the sun off your head (obviously!) This hat from Juicy Couture is very Wimbledon and the stripes are perfect for this season's summer trend. Available from Asos £58.
