We Love...Summer Knitwear

We Love...Summer Knitwear

We cannot take the summer weather for granted in this country and so the best advice we can give to the British fashionista is: Always be prepared. With rain a definite possibility and wind pretty much a given, light knitwear is a great compromise that means you can still have the summer wardrobe you crave all year round without getting a cold every time you step outside the front door.

This cropped top is from George for only £7. It's great for over the top of a vest top or cropped white cami top for showing of your summer tan. You can light layer without looking like you're in the middle of winter.

FemaleFirst Fave:

We love this versatile knitted waistcoat. Very summery in colour and tassled design can go with anything. Dresses, shorts, playsuits...it offers length and a layer for when the weather starts playing up.

It is also light weight enough to be worn on holiday as a great evening garment. Available from River Island for £39.99.

The colour of this knitted dress is perfect for summer. Just add some cork style wedges for some height and dress-up look for the outfit or some pumps and socks for the geek chic trend taking off over the summer festivals and highstreet. As long as you keep the colours bright there is no reason why this cannot be a great addition to your summer wardrobe.

This purple cropped top is similar to the one above but can be worn across the shoulders. Though it sounds so simple, this is such a good way to get a littl colour onto your skin but not having to be boring with vest tops.

Throw on a pair of palazzo trousers and you have a great summer outfit for a casual look in the tempramental summer sun. £10 from Republic.

Though we hate to admit it, we need a back-up plan for the summer. This western style cardigan from TopShop is slightly thicker and great incase the weather turns. Thr trick it to know how to keep the element of summer in your wardrobe without getting cold. This is a good compromise - a thicker garment in a summer trend. We'll take one please, only £48.
