Ahoy there sailor! Yes, nautical is back with a vengeance for this spring/summer, only this time it's been toned down, stripped bare and taken back to basics as we prepare for washed out nautical to make waves on the high-street.
Pamela Anderson rocked the washed out look for Vivienne Westwood's Gold Label campaign, modelling a faded flag T-shirt and red shorts on a beach setting.
Alexandra Burke also showcased the trend at The Elle Style Awards last week, rocking a D&G shift dress to perfection, while Sarah Harding has been pictured in a faded striped T-shirt and jeans of late.
A few seasons ago we couldn't move for the amount of nautical fashion on the high-street, with brightly coloured red shorts, blue tops and white pumps being on the top of every fashionistas wish list.
Well, this summer we're experiencing the grunge version of nautical- loose knitted waistcoats, faded striped T-shirts and plenty of attitude will be gracing those in the fashion know.
This is almost an update of the dark romance and gothic looks which dominated the winter trends, but this time it's a lot more relaxed and people can work the trend at their leisure.
It's also quite refreshing to see a toned down version of the crystal whites, reds and blues that were so 'in fashion' a few years ago, this season is all about relaxed, easy going style.
Here's some nautical goodies we've found on the high-street to get you in the mood for summer...
