Alexander McQueen SS09
A new print hit the catwalks this season and designers have gone all hi-tech on us.
The trend for Spring/Summer 09 graphic prints which cover entire pieces and looked almost computer generated hit the catwalks. If Autumn/Winter 09 is all about cartoon prints SS09 is about life like images.
Alexander McQueen showed pieces covered in giant gemstone prints and Miu Miu dresses were like pieces have canvas artwork modelled into dresses. Mary Katrantzou's dresses, modelled by Jourdan Dunn resembled perfume bottles.
The good thing about this trend is it works in bright summer colours or classic monochrome. The eye catching prints are perfect for the summer.
The computerised style of the pictures also fits in with AW09's trend for all things sci-fi and futuristic meaning the trend will carry through both seasons.
Surely that's got to make any pieces an investment!
