Clashing prints might sound like the ultimate fashion faux pas but believe it or not the look is this season's hottest trend!
Roberto Cavalli teamed animal print shirts with checked trousers on the SS09 runways and even his dresses were a mismatch of different prints with zebra, leopard and check print patches all in one dress. Luella's SS09 catwalk saw florals and stripes mixed together in one outfit and House of Holland mixed together florals and polka dots.
It's not just about clashing the pattern though, colours should be as bold and brash, bad taste is the way forward!
This season is the perfect time to try this trend as the high street is awash with floral and animal patterns.
Team this New Look cardigan, £20 with a patterned dress to maximise this look. We love this Topshop one, £45 and the blue cardigan will really bring out the orange detail in the dress.
If you like the trend but want it a bit more toned down team this floral skirt, River Island £32.99, with this leopard print T-shirt, Miss Selfridge £18. The monochrome colour of the top means the pattern is not too 'in your face'.
Finally try the colour block trend by teaming this Topshop cardigan, £32 with this All Saints skirt £75. The ditzy neutral pattern on the skirt means you can be bold with the top.
