Sequins in spring, not normally something you would consider but thanks to designers including Dior, Vivienne Westwood and Matthew Williamson the sparkles are not just reserved for the party season now.
Williamson's Spring collection included sequin covered dresses but instead of the usual black and gold pieces these dresses were silver with pastel green and orange detail to give a softer, girly feel. Mischa Barton was a fan choosing one of the dresses to wear for the opening of one of Matthew's stores.
You don't have to go for all over sequins, Dries Van Noten used patches of sequin detail on blazers, skirts and dresses to add just a touch of sparkle.
Asish used sequins in his spring/summer collections too but again mixing in this season's pastel colours, with peach and silver pieces.
If you want to sparkle this summer then head to Topshop where you can pick up your Matthew Williamson-a-like top for £65. It uses the same colours as the designers and the rose print is perfect for Spring.
Purple is also great for summer so we love this Something Else dress from Urban Outfitters, £62 with its purple sequined panels, perfect if you want a more subtle approach to sequins.
But this is a recession and we know that not everyone will want to splash out on something new. Good job then that most of our wardrobes will be brimming with sequined lovelies from the party season!
