Spring is finally upon us, well not in terms of the weather of course, but in terms of the fashion starting to make its way onto the high-street.
We've forecasted the big trends long ago and shown you how to work them, ahead of the rest of the fashion pack, but now we've uncovered a new trend set to make it big this season; sporty luxe.
Stella McCartney and Prada both showed luxury sportswear for their SS09 lines, with McCartney choosing to mix bomber jackets with jersey, whilst Prada paid homage to the 1950s with its twist on luxury sportswear.
Louise Goldin's take on the trend mixed neutral palettes along with sheer jumpsuits, for an almost ethereal effect and Gucci took it one step further by adding a cargo jungle effect mixed into its sportswear.
To cement this trend as truly being one to watch, the lovely Cheryl Cole, Geri Halliwell and Fearne Cotton have all been spotted working the luxury sportswear look of late, meaning there is no excuse to not be in on this new fashion craze.
Crinkled Chiffon, jumpsuits, jersey fabrics and silks will all be huge on the high-street this year, mixed in with the other big look of the year; neon.
Most of the trends intertwine for this season, which is great for most of us who are cash-strapped after Christmas as you can buy a few key items that will work for each look.
For example Sheer and neutral tones will work well for sporty luxe and the western trends, if you are clever about your purchases. Same goes with Spring florals, that will intertwine with the fabulous Oriental theme due to hit the rails very soon.
Here's our pick of how to get the sporty luxe look on the high-street...
