Metallic heels at Versace

Metallic heels at Versace

Metallic encased feet pounded down the Spring catwalks at Diane Von Furstenberg and Yves Saint Laurent and now the high street has taken note and shop shelves are brimming with shiny shoes.

Versace opted for strappy heels mixing muted silver and pewter shades with bright pink and red. Yves Saint Laurent favoured silver heels too but in caged styles. Like Versace, Diane Von Furstenberg went for strappy heels but this time in gold, proving any colour will go with this trend.

Whatever colour you go for the trick is choose foiled shoes. Avoid sparkly or glittery heels, the party season is well and truly over now.

Any style goes, plain foil, snakeskin, cut-out or peep-toe just remember to keep that all important shine factor.

FemaleFirst has done the hard work for you and found a pair of metallic lovelies for you whatever your budget may be. We know, we're just too good to you!

If you've got little more than a few pennies to rub together, head to Matalan for these metallic platform heels, £14. The black contrasts well with the gold platform and heel and the cut-out detail means these shoes will carry you well into summer.

If you want to spend a little more, these Office metallic heels are a relatively cheap £25. They add a pop of colour to any outfit and the double buckle gives them an oh-so-cute feel.

Left to Right: Matalan heels, £14; Office heels, £25; Bourne heels, £89.

Finally if your splashing the cash try Asos for these gold caged beauties by Bourne. They are pricey at £89 but they bang on trend with the caged effect.

Wear black nail varnish on your toes when wearing metallic shoes to ensure they have a high shine effect.
