A spring and it's warm weather creeps ever nearer it's ok to flash a bit of flesh and the best way to give a subtle glimpse of skin is through laser cut detailing. Designers such as House of Holland touched on the trend in their recent shows and celebrities including Helena Christensen and Ashley Tisdale have been quick to try it.
Fendi used snowflake style cut outs on hems and necklines while House of Holland went more full-on with punched out holes all the way up the legs.
This is definitely a less is more look, subtle detail on accessories or edges of clothes works better than full on holes across your chest. Keep the cut out sections smaller, you don't want a Jodie Marsh style peek-a-boo hole.
Go for shoes and belts with cut out details to add this look to your existing wardrobe. The simpler the shapes of holes are the better, we're looking for geometric style cutwork not intricate detail.
Cut out detail works better on dark or muted colours like beige or navy blue. On brighter hues it just looks a bit tacky. Long, but not full length, dresses with cut out patterns on the hem are a great way to wear this look in the day. For night time style go for a dress with the detail on the neckline for a sexy look.
