Post embarrassing melt down John Galliano has been delt some severe blows by the fashion world. His sacking/resignation from Dior, some celebrity friends deserting the once popular designer in his time of need and then his perfume sales took a nose dive, all at the expense of those comments.
Galliano's second fragrance Moi d'Amour was launched in Europe last autumn, however the company has waited to launch in the US in a bid to let the dust settle a little more. This was after the scent was hit in markets such as the UK and Germany where shops were reluctant to stock it.
However, it now seems that the industry is ready to forgive and forget, as retailers are now talking about the quality of the fragrance and its popularity with the shoppers. It is reported that german bloggers were responsible for getting the scent to be sold in the country again.
Gossip Girl's Taylor Momsen will still appear as the face for the campaign ad.
It would seem a celebrity is not a proper celebrity until they have a perfume. Pop royalty Beyonce is set to release her third scent called Pulse, a citrus smell with a floral gourmand that is heavy on the orchid.
The fragrance is said to be released in September and the bottle incorporates the chrome theme that has been present in many beyonce ads.
The company remains optimistic as her previous scents went down a storm with retailers and they predict that this fragrance will double the size of the franchise.
Other celebrities with fragrances to hit the shelves include model Heidi Klum who will launch her scent Shine in September and Mariah Carey who is set to release three new perfumes from her Lollypop Bling range released last year.
