Yesterday we told you how the 1990s were having a comeback and 80s trends are still going strong but fashion hasn't stopped dipping into the retro archives as this summer the 1970s will have its moment too.
Forget bad afros and silver latex, the Seventies are back with style thanks to designers including Gucci, DSquared2 and La Perla.
At DSquared2 models appeared in flared jeans, high waistbands, huge sunglasses, fitted tees and denim jackets.
Floaty maxi dresses and big waves added a glamorous, night time style to the decade.
At Gucci models accessorised cute playsuits with platform heels, aviator glasses and dripping with gold jewellery.
As well as blue denim, tan is a key colour for this look. Tan Macs are a great way to touch on the look, especially nipped in at the waist.
Patterns should be big and bright, especially on maxi dresses, but darker colours and ethnic style patterns can also work.
If flares and tiny hotpants make you feel too much like a 70s throwback, touch on the look with vintage style accessories such as straw cowboy hats and aviator sunglasses. Wearing a few long gold necklaces and platform heels also work well.
Wear your hair in thick, bouncy waves and go easy on the product, hair should look natural.
We wonder why we bother with new trends when the old ones look so good!
