The new Spring/Summer season has brought in a new style of tailoring for women. Designers have gone away from the more masculine approach and have created a more feminine touch.
The lines have a softer structure rather than the strong masculine lines that are usually used in tailoring. The colour scheme is kept to a neutral pallette from soft beige to black.
A great cut is still important - nipped in waists - to create the feminine sillhouette, cropped waistcoats and slim fit trousers. The midi skirt is still a hot trend especially in tailoring. It is a hard trend to follow as the skirt length can tend to look frumpy. If worn with a revealing decolletage the outfit will look instantly more sexy.
This mid length skirt from Debenhams follows two key trends of the season - the midi length and the ruffle running along down the length of the skirt.
Ruffles have been seen on the catwalks in the Spring/Summer shows. The ruffle adds a feminine touch to the tight fitting skirt. It could be worn to the office with a fitted white shirt or to a bar with a low cut top.
The key accessorie for this look is a belt. A jacket can be brought up to date by clinching it in with a belt. This brown woven belt from Warehouse could be worn over a loose white shirt to create a more nipped in look.
Heels should definitely be kept high to stay away from the look being too masculine.
