The monochrome look is set to make its way from catwalk to high street in time for Summer 2007.

All the major stores are catching on to the latest colour trend and stocking plenty of black and white pieces to keep us going all season.

Warehouse is keeping it relaxed, with plenty of free-flowing tunics and wrap-around dresses in bold prints. Coupled with fresh white linen trousers these create a great chilled out summer look which is perfect for a stroll in the park.

Warehouse also show that introducing a single bold colour to the monochrome tones gives it a trendy, daring edge. Yellow is a great choice this season.

French Connection are giving monochrome a glamourous edge. Their collection has a definite St Tropez feel with rich satin and dogtooth checks.

The minds behind the new range said: " Lustrous cropped jackets with high waisted pencil skirts are new statement pieces" Simple shilouetes and plain colours create a sleek stylish look which would not look out of place on a luxury yacht.

River Island are using the 80's fashion revival in their version of monochrome. They say:'PVC cigarette pants are super slick and look irresistible teamed with an oversized iconic 80’s t-shirt.' They are stocking a great range of fun tshirts with cool retro images. These are brilliant for a trendy clubber look.

More good news, leggings are staying around for a little bit longer. According to River Island they are set to play a big part in the monochrome look, making even the whitest of legs look fab.

A plain bold coloured pair can make black and white bright or try River Islands 'graphic scribble' patterned leggings for that ultra trendy vibe.

Finally to complete any monochrome outfit you need this season's must have sunglasses. Over-sized white rimmed shades will add the perfect glamourous edge to this fabulously versatlie look.
