After last week's shoes made from plastic bags, we have another eco-friendly product, shoes made from London Underground and bus seats, The Times reports.

It is not just the fabric that comes from a recycled product but the soles of the shoes are made from 33% bus tyre rubber.

Robert Taylor, of Transport Recycling in Partnership (TRiP), told The Times: "We have used good quality materials which would otherwise have ended up in landfill sites or going to an incinerator. I think the shoes have a real cultural, nostalgic feel to them."

Each design in the Above and Below London range is named after the line that supplied the fabric.

The shoes cost £60 and for every pair sold TRiP promises to plant one tree inside the M25.
