House of Holland SS09

House of Holland SS09

House of Holland's monochrome polka dot designs were the talk of London Fashion Week back in September and with Agyness Deyn and more recently M.I.A wearing the pieces off the catwalk, polka dot is set to be the print of this season.

Designer Henry Holland used polka dot in all aspects of his collection, womens and menswear. It appeared on leggings, shoes, shorts, dresses and, perhaps the easiest way to touch on this trend, tops.

The black and white print has a bit of a 1950s feel to it but Holland mixed in the 80s trend by using it on cut out jeans, bodies and crop tops.

The trend has been slowly creeping onto the high street and you can now get your hands on a crop top just like Agyness's, at a fraction of the cost.

This Topshop top is just £14 and features the giant dot print and would look great worn with this season's distressed denim for a real 80s feel. Bring the look up to date with a few long necklaces and a stack of bangles and you could even outdo Agyness in the style stakes!
