Balmain is one label that's status has being growing over the last few seasons. It has been adorning the bodies of everybody from Erin Wasson to Gwyneth Paltrow and with it's unique style we think Balmain is going to be huge.
Designer Christophe Decarnin celebrated luxe sixties boho style in his Spring show and moved on to Ziggy STardust like glam rock with pseudo punk pieces for the autumn show. The result is rock ânâ roll, highly desirable, and easy to emulate, just remember the three S's shoulders, sequins, and skin-tight trousers. It's very sexy but not in the traditional red carpet way.
We love their one shoulder dress with chainmail, $13,000. The rouched fabric gives it a Grecian effect but the bodycon fit and chainmail detail gives the look a modern twist.
Balmain combined glam rock with folk by teaming this sequined one shoulder dress with fringed leather ankle boots $1025. On paper the two should not work but the mix is great and gives a real twist to the disco dress.
The label also does edgy with it's animal prints and plaids. The Red Snake Skin Print Biker Jeans, $3096 look effortlessly cool teamed with a skinny black belt and simple white vest.
While the whole collection has a edgy vibe, our favourite piece by far is this silver leaf skirt. Decarnin kept the top half simple teaming it with a plain black top so that all attention is on the skirt. Surely it'll be a matter of weeks before one of the Olsen twins or Kate Moss is snapped in this one. We just hope it filters down to the high street soon!
