We've been big fans of Phillip Lim since he showcased a gorgeous spring collection last season, so we were eagerly anticipating his new range at New York Fashion Week.
Kicking off the collection with a gorgeous tailcoat beige jacket and ruffled blouse, it was clear this was going to be a spectacular show as Lim took us down memory lane to the swinging sixties.
We loved the burgundy coloured tights teamed with quirky shift dresses, and think they could be big news for autumn this year, especially because we've yet to see much of boring black tights so far on the runway.
His models and their 'bowl cuts' had been seen two seasons ago at Yves Saint Laurent, but while they went for a more severe style statement, Lim merely used his as a nice finishing touch.
The striped dresses thrown on collectively with just a beige jacket was edgy and cool, while still quite cutting edge and rebellious. And we're totally in love with his patent baby pink lace up boots too, they are officially to-die-for.
His sheer panelled maxi dress, complete with a long white military inspired jacket was gorgeous too, in fact we'd be hard put to find anything wrong with his collection to be honest.
Even his mustard coloured trousers, bright pink top and beige jacket look like a great match on his catwalk, and not many people, in our opinion at least can master that.
Dark florals and some art deco prints were thrown into the mix and worked quite well, teamed with long leather gloves and scarily high heels, it was a nice diversion from all the brighter block colours on the catwalk.
The highlight of the collection for us was a intricately beaded black top, metallic sequined skirt and a black and white sheer jacket. It was simple, quirky, cool and wearable- we totally fell in love with it and just goes to show you how far ahead of the times Lim really is.
He is officially our new designer style crush!
