Caroline Herrara showed a beautifully intricate collection at New York Fashion Week yesterday, giving us a autumnal dream to be proud of.
High-waisted pencil skirts teamed with copper coloured silk shirts and oversized clutch bags strutted down the dark runway, really encapsulating the feel of the winter.
No mean feat, considering we're now heading into spring and it's eerily bright outside in the sunshine, but somehow Herrara managed to wow with a very simple collection.
We loved her green cropped velvet jacket teamed with sparkly trousers, all pinned together with a looped belt- it had a touch of Robin Hood about it, with her models' hair and make-up kept very minimal too.
Her woodland forest colour palette of rich green, brown, gold and bronze worked well against the backdrop of such a minimal setting, and every design seemed to stand out because of it.
Herrara's three-quarter length Oriental jacket follows on from the spring offerings of Oriental fashion, only updating it with a more intricate design and darker colours for the autumn months.
Continuing the Oriental theme, Herrara sent a full length Chinese dress down the runway followed by what can only be described as a stunning silk mocha coloured evening gown.
The puffed sleeves, peach, gold and brown fishtail skirt and the strapless design all made it the standout of the collection, and we can see a fair few celebs queuing up for this frock come premiere time.
As with yesterday's offerings, the one-shoulder dress made an appearance three times on the Herrara runway. Could this be forecasting the trend for yet another season in the limelight? Well, we've still got four days to go, so we'll have to wait and see!
Closing the collection, she focused on bringing it back to warm autumn basics with tight teal trousers, a woollen coat and flashes of purple accessories.
A signature Herrara collection, flawless, well executed and gorgeous; we approve!
