Charlotte Ronson is showing at New York Fashion Week this afternoon

Fashion's Autumn Winter season kicks off today as New York Fashion Week open's it's doors for the 66th year.

Opening the event in the Bryant Park Tents is The Heart Truth's Red Dress Collection 2009. Celebrities will take to the runway for The Heart Truth, a national awareness campaign for women about heart disease, in a host of one-off red designer dresses.

Yigal Azrouël will take to the floor next. Yigal is known for his feminine designs and draping techniques, but does not like to follow trends, instead he takes his inspiration from art, architecture and travel.

Menswear label Duckie Brown is up at 1pm and we can expect some colourful pieces. Steven Cox and Daniel Silver, the designers behind the label have a fondness for using bright, psychedelic fuchsia and yellow prints but still maintaining stylish and wearable cuts.

Charlotte Ronson will show for the second season at 2pm. Sister of DJ Samantha Ronson and friend of Lindsay Lohan, Charlotte's show is bound to attract a few famous faces.

BCBG Max Azria Follows Charlotte at 3pm. Azria is the man behind 2008's must have item, the Herve Leger bodycon dress, but this range is more cute and wearable. We can expect cute girly pieces from the designer.


BCBG will be followed by Nicole Miller, known for her lively prints, party dresses and classic American sportswear.

This Day's Arise magazine will be launched next with it's African Fashion Collective 2009. It will show the work of designers including,  Xuly Bet of Mali, Stoned Cherrie of South Africa, MOMO and Tiffany Amber of Nigeria.

The penultimate collection comes from Academy of Art University and their Graduate's Fall 2009 collections.

Finishing day one of New York Fashion Week is Venexiana. Hungarian born designer Kati Stern is known for her sexy styles including Courtesan-style corsets, leather, fur, marabou, laser-cut chiffon and lace.
