Ever since we earmarked this as a trend to watch last year, the high-street have been flooded with some real neon gems and we thought it was high time to show you how to work the look.
DKNY kick started it all off with their neon tribute in New York, swiftly followed by the likes of Gucci, House of Holland, Alexander Wang and Dior.
The mix and match theme was hugely prevalent in most designers' collections for SS09 this year, as clashing colours, prints and statement colour blocking dominated the shows.
While we've arguably had a few disasters with neon in the past, this time we'll be seeing a much more refined neon. So expect to see less bright leg warmers and fingerless gloves clogging up the high-street.
The colour clash will be a huge trend for the upcoming year, which as scary as it sounds will see us teaming orange and fuchsia together and pink and blue.
Don't despair however, we'll be bringing you all the latest tips on how to work the new colours in the coming months, but for now here's how to work the new neon in three different ways...
The 'New Clash'
This style is all about working different shades of neon into your look. Here we've chosen a bright fuchsia top and paired it with some wet look leggings, bright pink shoes and a lighter pink loose jersey cardigan. This works because it can be worn for the day or at night and is not too overbearing for someone who maybe just wants to dabble in this trend.

Quirky Cool
We're loving the hot orange shades coming through this season now, and here we've paired this blood orange skirt with a funky retro T-shirt, which will look best when tucked into the skirt. We've put it together with some simple black opaques and statement shoes to really stand out from the crowd.

Daytime Delight
Despite this being an evening dress, it can be worn in the daytime too, to create a new neon effect. By pairing it with some opaque tights and some oh-so trendy buckle boots, it's suitably dressed down yet smart. Simply pair with a blazer and you have a new office outfit for the spring; simple!
