Versace and Gucci took to the world stage yesterday to show their visions for menswear next year, and didn't disappoint with a superb display of accomplished fashion.
Donatella Versace and Alexandre Plokhov have struggled in previous seasons to achieve a balance between both of their styles, however this year none of that was evident as they presented a confident collection for the modern man.
Unlike the other shows over the weekend, the colour palette was much brighter and drew on paler tones to achieve an arctic effect, but also paid tribute to the Hollywood stars of the Twenties and Thirties too.
Fleece coats, jumpers and snuggly scarves made their appearance in droves, followed by a darker range of clothing, including a robe-like cashmere coat and range of double breasted suits.
Gucci's Frida Giannini took the audience on a journey through the musical world, drawing influences from the eighties and keeping the collection young and energetic.
Short jackets, metallic trousers and fur coats aplenty showcased the runway, accompanied with thinly decorated jumpers and most bizarrely leggings showcasing as tuxedo pants.
Despite being slightly subdued in terms of other collections seen this week, Gucci did manage to inject some much needed colour into the proceedings, where other fashion houses have severely failed this season.
Special mention must to go Moschino and their bowler-hat decked models, who had the city slicker look down to a tee, paired with pinstriped jackets and patchwork trenchcoats.
