Mary Quant started the mini-skirt revolution

Mary Quant started the mini-skirt revolution

Prepare to buff, shave and moisturise those legs girls, as this summer is all about flashing those perfect pins in a mini-skirt.

We were prepared for a summer of harem pants and jumpsuits, but for the tiny mini to make a reappearance is a little bit of a shock, especially when we haven't quite got over our cellulite fear!

Perhaps we should have taken the hint when the catwalks started featuring them, as opposed to tailored trousers or pencil skirts, but we just like to think we were in denial.

Well, we can't really avoid it any longer as the mini-revolution approaches, with celebs like Girls Aloud, Taylor Momsen and Rihanna all sampling the trend.

Tulip, tiered and tight are the three T's you'll need to embrace this summer when mini-skirt shopping, in addition to ditching boring black and bringing some colour into your life instead.

Bright patterns and florals are also set to be massive, so unfortunately ladies if you had hoped to cover up this season, you may have to rethink your plans.

Here's some of our high-street skirt picks for the summer...

Striped Skirt, £40, Warehouse; Flower Skirt, £20, New Look; Blue Skirt, £24.99, River Island
