Welcome to FemaleFirst's third instalment of the 2009 Fashion Forecast; here we'll be bringing you all the big trends, events and stylish celebs of the year, all broken down month by month.
January came and went in a haze and now that February has passed us by once again, it's time to look at all things fabulously fashionable for the spring month of March.
Milan Fashion Week is winding down this month having kicked off at the end of February last week. After disappointing turnouts at both New York and London Fashion Week, Milan is expected to be a hotspot for the fashionable elite. We've already spotted Pixie Geldof, Liz Hurley and Scarlett Johansson making waves on the fashion circuit, so fingers crossed the fabulous Mrs Beckham makes an appearance!
Paris Fashion Week will start the day after Milan comes to an end, and after hearing the news that Pamela Anderson is to walk for Vivienne Westwood in her show, we're more than just a little excited. We've also heard some rumours that Beth Ditto will headline Fendi's show, bringing Paris Fashion Week to a close too! Watch this space...
Speaking of Beth Ditto, her fashion range for Evans is due to hit shelves later this month, according to new reports. Beth is making something of a name for herself in the fashion world of late and there is substantial buzz surrounding her collection for Arcadia boss, Philip Green. We're looking forward to her designer debut...
Britney's Circus tour kicks off this month too, and we're very excited to see what fashionable outfits she'll be donning for her comeback tour. DSquared2 have designed some outlandish looks for the star, including outrageous headwear with military jackets and fishnet tights. We officially cannot wait.
Comic Relief returns in the middle of March this year, and we can expect people to be getting up to plenty of fashionable frolics, all in the name of charity. Gorgeous girlband The Saturdays and Gavin and Stacey's Nessa and Bryn have teamed up to launch two songs for the cause, and both are worthy of getting to number one in our opinion. Plus we're loving Nessa's chav inspired fashion!
Summer officially starts in March. Well, it does if you're a high-street shop at least, as they have taken delivery of all their new summer stock now, so expect to see bikini's glaring at you from every angle from now on.
The new autumn trend reports are starting to filter in now, thanks to over-eager fashion editors like us, trying to give you a heads-up as to what will be fashionable come September. While this can be handy, we appreciate it can feel like something of an overload considering we're only just starting to think about the summer ahead. But if you are interested about the future trends, check out our guide here.
Alexander Wang for Topshop? This is merely a rumour at the moment, but we thought we'd put it in our March guide anyways, because we're hoping and praying it is true. Bigwig boss, Philip Green was spotted at New York Fashion Week, mingling with all those in the fashion know, and rumour has it he was looking to sign Wang to his burgeoning list of designers for the high-street favourite.
Scarlett Johansson For D&G Make-up will officially be launched later this month and it feels like it's been going on for ever! We first heard rumours last year, only for it to be finally confirmed in January that she was indeed to be involved. Now we've heard the launch will take place this month and have released some promo pics of Scarlett doing her best Marilyn impression to mark the occasion.
