Candy colours were all over the spring/summer 09 catwalks including Luella and Matthew Williamson and they are the perfect summer antidote if you are sick of monochrome or heavy colour blocking.
Jessica Alba and American socialite have been spotted in the lavender and yellow versions of Christian Dior's candy floss coloured baby doll dress giving the style the A-list seal of approval.
These sugary colours are great for embracing your girly, flirty style as candy coloured dresses look great floaty and frilly or with lace detail. The look doesn't have to be too feminine though, you can add a tougher edge to balance out the look with heavy gold jewellery or a leather jacket, a la Sienna Miller.
Candy colours also work well with the pattern and colour clash trends that are big at the moment as shown at Luella. The softer colours mean that the clash doesn't seem as extreme and harsh.
Luckily for those of us whose budget doesn't quite stretch to Dior the high street is brimming with bubblegum colour dresses. We love these three below.
From left to right: Yellow dress, Topshop £28; Green dress, New Look £22; Pink dress, Lipsy, £60.
