PPQ's latest collection brightened up London Fashion Week no end yesterday, as they showcased one of the most colourful collections ever seen for a autumn/winter range.
It seems the design duo of Amy Molyneaux and Percy Parker wanted to blow the cobwebs away and focus on something cheerful, fun and flirty for their AW09 range, and in the process give a two finger salute to the recession.
Daisy Lowe and Alice Dellal were among the famous faces modelling for the fashion house, and looked great in their pop arts prints, huge checked coats and block colour tights.
We loved everything about this collection; it was mishmashed in places and some of the pieces were just a clash too far, but for the sheer amount of colour being showcased it deserved a huge pat on the back.
Ruffles, stripes and checks all piled together- this was the range that had it all. It would be hard to pinpoint where their inspiration has come from exactly, as they seemed to take different creative angles for each piece of clothing in the collection.
The stripy all-in-ones looked a tad as though they were inspired by prison suits, while the mint green dress teamed with orange tights wouldn't be an obvious colour combination for most, but oddly, combined with the model's long plaited hair and beret, it worked.

Taking the block colour theme from SS09 and updating it with a colourful tote bag and stripy shoes looked gorgeous, and modelled by Daisy it was a refreshing change from all the waif-like models we've seen so far at both London and New York fashion week.
Tartan made a reappearance as a cute pinafore dress teamed with a stripy jumper and orange tights, which was much more girly and fun compared to the punk edge which tartan was associated with two seasons ago.
The standout piece in the collection was patchwork quilted coat, which we couldn't imagine anyone wearing in real life, but it did undoubtedly steal the show.
Much more successful was a patchwork strapless dress, which had an adorable vintage feel about it and teamed once again with colourful tights, made a nice change from all the dreary winter looks that other designers were showing.
Black and white was kept to a minimum in the collection, showing only at the end and even then the colourful tights refused to go away, as they showed a black woollen coat with fur trim and electric blue tights together.
