VV Brown opened Ashish's Autumn/Winter 09 show

London Fashion Week is well under way now and Ashish made sure the opening day was a colourful affair with his collection of bright outfits, a generous helping of sparkles and VV Brown opening the show.

Described as the Sequin King designer Ashish Gupta did not disappoint with sequins coming in all different designers including giraffe prints trousers, American flags shorts and a keyboard patterned skirt.

There were lots of animal prints put Ashish moved away from traditional beige colours instead opting for blues, purples and greens.

Ashish is known for his picture clothes, in the past using playing card dresses, for this season we were treated to a sequined dress designed to look like a tuxedo with jacket, shirt and dicky bow all created through different colour sequins.

The most bizarre outfit came in the form of a silver sequined tracksuit where the hood created a mask, covering the whole head, except for two eye holes, topped of with a floral hat.

The collection had a real winter feel with snowflake knit patterns on dresses, coats and cardigans but it was kept modern with the use of neon colours in the designs instead of the usual black and white. Colourful pompoms adorned trousers, hats and jackets to complete the fun look.

Another great, unique collection but we wouldn't expect anything less from the Sequin King!
