Day three of London Fashion Week, Sunday 22nd, looks set to be the best day with big names such as PPQ, Twenty8Twelve and Betty Jackson all showing their autumn/winter 09 collections.
Betty Jackson will open the day at 9.15. We can expect lots of feminine pieces as Betty says she was inspired by romance, innocence and surrealism. She says her design signatures are Textures and prints, soft volume and relaxed glamour.
Next up is Todd Lynn at 10.15. The Central Saint Martins MA graduate has promised razor-sharp androgynous tailoring in his collection.
Nicole Farhi follows Todd. Her range will no doubt showcase a mixture of Turkish heritage, French chic and sophistication and British eccentricity through relaxed tailoring, knitwear, layering and chic detailing in the most luxurious fabrics.
Another Central Saint Martins graduate, Christopher Kane is up next. It will no doubt be a unique, detailed collection with Kane listing his inspirations as Folk art, Fabergé eggs and Renaissance paintings.
At 14.15 is Richard Nicoll who lists his inspirations the artist Linder Sterling, the musician Arthur Russel and making do, followed by Eley Kishimoto at 15.15. Their collection will undoubtedly be bright, colourful with some great prints.
Up next is Danielle Scutt who is currently enjoying New Generation sponsorship from Topshop. Danielle is a fan of pop art and surrealism so the collection we can expect a colourful collection.
Jaeger London follows at 17.00. The designers describe their inspiration as Sarah Moon photography, the modernist movement and shattered glass. We can expect maximum impact with graphic prints and statement coats.
Up at 8 pm. and bound to draw in a celeb packed audience is PPQ. We can expect original print designs and lots of colour, even if it is a bit muted. Designers Amy Molyneaux and Percy Parker describe their inspirations for this season as, Make do and mend. PPQ has always incorporated arts and crafts aspects into each collection; from hand-knitting techniques and Macrame to hand beading and skills for life. This season, it’s all about high glamour, homemade chic."
At 21.oo Sienna Miller and sister Savannah will show their collection, Twenty8Twelve, for the first time at LondonFashion Week. We can expect simple yet stylish pieces in classic colours.
Throughout the day there will also be presentations by Antoni&Alison and Modernist.
