London Fashion Week AW09

London Fashion Week AW09

It barely seems five minutes since we were looking at the SS09 shows in September, but as crazy as it may sound, we're now gearing up to see what's hot for AW09 in February.

New York Fashion Week's schedule has yet to be confirmed, but London is one step ahead of its fashion rivals and has let us in on its line up for February.

London Fashion Week will commence on Friday 20th February until Tuesday 24th, which will overlap for the first time ever with the New York shows.

Officials of New York Fashion week decided to move their schedule, which threw LFW week into chaos, as many feared important fashion journos may skip it altogether and head straight to Milan instead.

Apparently, LFW aren't too worried about the change however, with Hilary Riva, chairman of the British Fashion Council telling Vogue, "This February an overlap with New York has been agreed by the majority of designers showing at London Fashion Week."

"February is the first fashion week of the 25 Year Celebrations of British Fashion and we look forward to an exciting week showcasing the very best of British design."

So with that in mind, what else can we expect for AW09? Well, apart from the news that Amanda Wakeley is to show a presentation instead of a catwalk collection, everyone else is remaining quite tight lipped about their new designs.

However, as we revealed last week, Sienna and Savannah Miller's label Twenty8Twelve will make its debut in February with a presentation show, which is sure to take their brand to global superstardom.

And new emerging talent in the form of William Tempest, who showed at LFW SS09 with Fashion Fringe is to show his new collection, along with Project Catwalk winner Jasper Gavida, who will exhibit at LFW's On|Off exhibition.

We're counting down the days...
