House Of Holland AW09

House Of Holland AW09

Welcome to our fourth fashion faceoff here at FemaleFirst, where we pit two big designer names against each other, to see who comes out on top in the fashion stakes.

This week we're looking at two of the quirkiest brands in Britain, who always exceed our expectations each season and just keep getting more creative with their looks, so who will come out on top?

Well, let's find out, as first up is the man of the moment, Henry Holland. Thanks to his high-profile relationship with muse and friend Agyness Deyn, this man is rarely out of the style pages.

That's not to say that he doesn't deserve this success, or that he hasn't achieved it off his own back, it's just that he and Agyness hit the big time together, so naturally we always refer to them in this way!

Agyness always model's Henry's looks and she is credited as being the inspiration for most of his collections, so how can we fail to give Aggy some praise for making Henry as amazing as he is?!

Seriously, his Dulex inspired AW09 collection was fabulous, and he managed to make black lips look sexy, which we're sure you'll agree is a hell of an achievement.

His SS09 collection was arguably even better as he sampled florals, ripped denim and polkadots to perfection, making it clear he was no one trick pony.

While he is the King of quirk, Henry has stiff competition from PPQ, who also aren't afraid to blast the acid brights and take some fashion risks on the runway.

Bagging Daisy Lowe and Alice Dellal for their catwalk show was also a bit of a coup, showing the have celeb appeal to the masses and making them a cult favourite with the likes of Peaches and Pixie Geldof.

Indeed, Peaches has even designed a collection for the label, which arguably means they are bigger than Henry Holland at the moment, but are they necessarily better?

Well, in our view both of them are amazing and great in their own right, so to pit them together in this way makes it very difficult to chose a winner based on design merit.

That said, we have to crown Henry Holland as the winner this week, as he's simply blown us away this year with his creative talent.
