Fascinator hits hit the headlines this summer when Sarah Jessica Parker popped one on her head for the London premiere of Sex and the City: The Movie and now hats look set to have a real fashion moment as the rest of the celebrities catch on.
This week's British Fashion Awards played showed how popular the fascinator was becoming with fashionista Roisin Murphy and supermodel Erin O'Conner wearing them.
Erin's hat had an almost pirate look about it with it's angles but the netting tied it into this season's gothic trend.
The black hat looked great against Erin's gold, sparkly Vivienne Westwood jacket and full skirt.
Roisin's tall black feathered number fitted in with her adventurous style but if we're honest it didn't really do much for bring the fascinator into mainstream looks. It almost looked like she had a bird on her head.
Hat designer Stephen Jones was awarded for his Outstanding Achievement in Fashion Design and designed himself a black crown to celebrate! The milliner also made a hat for designer L'Wren Scott, a metallic pink angled trilby with an ostrich feather. The hat worked perfectly with L'Wren's gold sheath dress
If designers themselves are keen to wear them then that's good enough for us! Once you've perfected your outfit, finish the look by perching a hat on your head, you'll be one step ahead of everyone else.
