Stella McCartney SS09

Stella McCartney SS09

If you want your prints a little less fussy than floral this Spring then follow Stella McCartney and Zac Posen's lead and try a geometric print.

Stella used the print on T-shirts teamed with a long black jacket, shorts and Perspex heels while Zac used the print more obviously on a zigzag maxi dress.

Geometric prints are great versatile pieces as the monochrome print can be kept classic worn with other black and white pieces or given a twist by swapping black and white for colourful patterns.

Unless you've got a supermodel frame it would be hard to pull off this pattern all over like at ZacPosen but a geometric top or the detail on dresses looks great. The best thing is that the monochrome print is flattering to all colourings so this is a trend anyone can work.

If you want to keep your print simple with traditional black and white colours then go for this great oversized top, £15.75 from ASOS. The batwing sleeves are hot right now so you're multi-trending!

If you want to mix it up and change your print for colour then this Topshop tunic, £18 is great. It will look great with jeans and boots now and a skirt and gladiator sandals when the weather picks up!
