Who would have thought it, Geek is now Chic?
Wearing a pair of checked trousers and bib and braces is no longer a fashion faux pas, but a fashionable must.
A great look that can be translated for day or night, wear matching suits pieces for the evening, or dress waistcoats with tailored trousers. Brogues and loafers are the shoe of choice.
Watch your step though because if you fall over and cut yourself, a dinosaur pattered plaster will be a step too far.
My favourite part of this look though is the glasses, whether you wear them for practical reasons, or just to stand out in the crowd. Thick rimmed glasses that look more Kanye West rather than Napoleon Dynamite.
Justin Timberlake has been rocking the trend for quite a while now, and its come to our shores now, with Henry Holland and Tinie Tempah taking inspiration from the fashionable nerds.
Don't forget to take your face shape into consideration when picking out a pair of frames, and colours that will work with your skin tone, clear framed frames are easy to wear and a lot less unnoticeable, obviously. Opt for them, if you're not too sure.
Choose high-street over high-end if you know you won't wear them all the time, and don't forget to clean them. Grubby finger marks look cheap and dirty.
These on the right are available from Topman £12, the classic black specs that will work for most people.
The brown tortoise shell frames are available from Topman £14. Wear, especially if you have blue eyes, to make your eye colour stand out.
The Ray-Ban frames are you sartorial dressers out there, who don't get enough wearing time out of your Wayfarer frames in the summer. Available to purchase from lovemyframes.com for £82.
These Dolce and Gabbana lovelies, on the left, are perfect for the evening as well. They look smart, dressy and are practical. Available from lovemyframes.com for £109.
The final pair on the right, are for the most fashion forward of you all, the cheapest at £10 from ASOS.co.uk. The round clear lense glasses truly epitomise geek chic at its best. Not for the faint hearted, or those with round faces.
